Birds of a Feather

Bindu Dhoj Adhikary
“Live and let live.”
The first Nepali to earn an MBA from University of Delhi, he was not merely ahead of his time—he was quietly rewriting it. A pioneering marketing strategist, he lived by a simple, relentless creed: marketing, marketing, marketing. As General Manager of the Trade Promotion Center, and through his work with global institutions such as the World Bank, United Nations, and Asian Development Bank, he opened the world to Nepali craftsmanship and agro-products—placing local enterprise on an international stage long before it was fashionable to do so.But his truest work lay closer to the earth. He believed that Nepal’s future would not be imported—it would be grown. He saw, with quiet unease, the subtle erosion of tradition: remote villages trading millet for sugar, heritage for convenience, nourishment for novelty. And so he turned his gaze to the youth, urging them to begin, however humbly, to build from their own soil, with dignity, purpose, and pride.
MOOL stands today as an echo of that vision.
Manishi KC
“I was never meant for walls or titles. I belong to rivers that don’t ask permission, mountains that don’t recognise hierarchy, and forests that measure worth in silence, not status. I build, yes, but not to own. Only to protect what raised me.
Nepal is not where I’m from. It is what I am.”

Manishi KC is an entrepreneur based in Squamish, British Columbia, where nature shapes both his life and work. He focuses on bringing artisanal handicrafts from Nepal to global markets, creating meaningful connections that honour tradition. A passionate fly fisherman, his bond with rivers runs deep. They guide his approach to business with patience, precision, and respect. Though based abroad, his roots remain deeply Nepali, reflected in his belief in building with purpose and staying connected to origin.

How can I begin to describe my time with Poveda... It was simply life-changing! I always imagined that Bali would be a breathtaking destination, but thanks to Poveda, I was able to not just experience the culture, but have once-in-a-lifetime memories. I got so much more than I ever anticipated from my holiday.
